Dear church family,
The situation with COVID-19 is changing rapidly. But, as many of you probably anticipated, the government has now requested that groups of no more than 50 meet together. That number could grow even smaller by the end of the week. Until further notice, we will not be meeting together physically. However, one advantage of living in the digital age is that we have online alternatives. While the internet can never replace meeting in person, we feel this is our best option for the time-being.
We are getting closer to having live-streaming services. If this is not ready by this Sunday, we will record the service beforehand and make it available by 10:00 a.m. Sunday morning.
The men's and women's Bible studies will be meeting online via Skype at the usual times. Contact Karen and Vince if you are interested (even if you've not been a part of the studies so far).
The midweek Bible study is still on hold.
For those who are wondering about giving, some time ago we set up an online option using tith.ly. The free tith.ly app is available on Apple and Android devices. The instructions are straightforward.
I will be posting regular updates and encouragements and from the Word on Facebook and YouTube and will email you the link. We may have to make further adjustments depending on what developments arise in the coming weeks but these contingency plans should work for the time being.
Please be extra-intentional to pray for one other and to be in regular contact with one other, especially our seniors and shut-ins as well as those in the community around you. Remember, the threat of COVID-19 gives you an opportunity to trust God and love others.
Please keep us informed of any prayer requests, ministry needs or practical needs.
On behalf of the pastors of Providence Baptist Church,
John
1 He who dwells in the shelter of the Most Highwill abide in the shadow of the Almighty.
2 I will say to the Lord, “My refuge and my fortress,my God, in whom I trust.”
(Psalm 91:1-2)
