Give Thanks for the Church(es)

Dear Church family,

This morning, as we face another week of not meeting together I'm reminded of the Apostle Paul's salutations in his letters to the churches. Almost every time he gives thanks for them, the only exception being the church in Galatia that had turned from the Gospel because of the Judaizers. Paul was thankful for the churches and prayed ceaselessly for them, even the church in Colossae that he'd never visited. We can grow in our thanksgiving and love for each other, even in our absence from each other, through prayer. We can grow in our thanksgiving and love for our brothers and sisters around the world, our missionaries, those who are persecuted, even though we have never met them, through prayer. May God help us to grow together through prayer!

Yours in Christ's service, John
