John Tucker

Pastor-Teacher

 

Pastor John is committed to historic Reformed doctrine. He preaches expositionally, preaching through books of the Bible. He seeks to apply the Word of God in teaching, counselling, and all of life. Discipleship has been an integral part of his ministry for many years, both formally and informally.

 

Pastor John is married with three children. He has served as pastor at Providence Baptist Church since 2010. Prior to that he worked as Discipleship Leader at Immanuel Baptist Church in Louisville, KY as assistant to the pastor at Jarvis Baptist Church in Toronto, Ontario, and as an elder at Southport Church, Gold Coast, Australia where he was also involved in youth and young adult ministry and served in Aboriginal missions, and short-term missions to Papua New Guinea. He was working as a physical education teacher in Australia when he was called into vocation ministry. 

 

He completed a Doctor of Ministry degree from The Master’s Seminary in 2018 and a Master of Divinity from the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in 2009. He has also completed a Graduate Diploma in Pastoral Counseling from the Australian College of Ministries in 2000, a Graduate Diploma in Education from Griffith University (Gold Coast) in 1996 as well as Bachelor of Arts from Carleton University in 1994.
